![]() That’s because LANDR bills you yearly, so you’ll need to make sure it’ll be worth your while. It really depends on how much music you intend to release yearly. Sure, it may take ME less time since I’m the one doing the job, but you’ll most likely need to wait in line if you’re working with an engineer.Īt the end of the day though, LANDR Mastering is just as good as professional mastering in my opinion. If you don’t get your mixing right, your mastering will NEVER sound good.Īnyway, I wouldn’t personally use LANDR Mastering on my own projects, but it may be useful for those of you who just want something quick and easy (maybe even more affordable). Mixing, on the other hand, can take HOURS AND HOURS. If that sounds impressive, wait until you find out it took me LESS THAN 5 MINUTES to master my version… It’s simply because mastering isn’t as difficult as it’s hyped up to be. ![]() That being said, I still think LANDR did an excellent job and it did it in UNDER 10 MINUTES!! It may also sound cliche, but… I think my version sounds more “human”. However, I still prefer my version because it was EXACTLY what I was hearing in my head. Keep mastering your own tracks though… After watching this video I made, you’ll most likely agree with me! In other words, maybe we should leave that kind of tedious work to the machines and focus on more important things like MIXING and MUSIC PRODUCTION. However, the typical artist doesn’t understand how mastering works and is just as likely to get what they’re looking for from a machine than from a human. That’s because you might know exactly what you want and how to get it. More specifically, that only applies if YOU’RE the professional doing the mastering. The real difference between LANDR Mastering and professional mastering is the degree of control. However, did it do better than me? Let’s find out! I know that some of you might be considering automated mastering services, but are they really as good as the real thing? I had the opportunity to check out LANDR Mastering for myself and I was actually surprised to say the least. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Mei falls asleep atop Totoro but when Satsuki finds her, she is on the ground. Mei thinks Totoro is the troll from her illustrated book Three Billy Goats Gruff, with her mispronouncing troll. She befriends a larger spirit, which identifies itself using a series of roars she interprets as "Totoro". Mei later discovers two small spirits who lead her into the hollow of a large camphor tree. When the girls become comfortable in their new house, the susuwatari leave to find another empty house. The house is inhabited by small, dark, dust-like house spirits called susuwatari, which can be seen when moving from bright places to dark ones. In 1950s Japan, university professor Tatsuo Kusakabe and his daughters Satsuki and Mei (approximately ten and four years old, respectively) move into an old house close to the hospital where the girls' mother Yasuko is recovering from a long-term illness. Totoro also serves as the mascot for Studio Ghibli and is recognized as one of the most popular characters in Japanese animation. The film and its titular character have become cultural icons, and made multiple cameo appearances in a number of Studio Ghibli films and video games. We have all the details you may be looking for, including the release date, plot, and cast, and the best thing is that you will be able to stream all the episodes online - which is what we all do in this day and age. “We are an example of somehow trying to stay in front of it.The Dateline series is getting a spinoff, which is set to premiere soon. ![]() “I don’t think the average viewer realizes how much broadcasting has changed,” says Corvo. Meanwhile, the show’s producers will keep on trying to find new ways to get “Dateline” mysteries in front of those who want more cases to crack. For someone to be involved in it more than a procedural, it has to mean something to somebody.” “The stories that do well have a strong community of family and friends of the victim, so we know what the consequences of the crime are. “There is a bit of a soap-opera quality to it, in the best sense of that word,” says Corvo. No matter the format, however, “Dateline” has some required building blocks. Since 2019, the show has created seven different podcasts – some original and some in the form of what is known as a “showcast,” or the audio track of an original episode. Video isn’t the only path “Dateline” producers are pursuing. But producers are assigned to keep many of the true-crime stories current, says Corvo, adding new elements if a turn in the case depicted should take place, or tweaking such things as music if it is no longer germane. Some episodes may have been relevant in the past, but are not so now. In a different era, “Dateline” was once a multi-story newsmagazine anchored by Stone Phillips and Jane Pauley, among others. Not every broadcast is of use in the current environment. Nearly 120 hours of Dateline have aired during any given week this quarter across broadcast, cable and syndication. In the streaming era, however, a significant number of them can be put back into use through playback on some of the cable networks owned by NBCUniversal syndication or a bespoke Peacock streaming channel, where episodes are sometimes curated by topic. In a different era, they would all be consigned to some NBC archive where the occasional producer or researcher might seek out a snippet of old footage. Since launching in 1992, “Dateline” has amassed more than 2,870 episodes. In an era when viewers can often binge their way through old episodes of their favorite programs, “Dateline” can make use of its past work. The shows are also vying with a growing slate of streaming selections centered on true crime that are in rotation in the libraries of streamers like HBO Max, Fox Nation and Netflix. ABC News, for example, has placed more emphasis on two-hour-long episodes of “20/20” in recent years, the better to those programs on Hulu and entice subscribers who might have a yen for movie-length true-crime documentaries. And it comes as many of the backers of the old-school “newsmagazine” format are experimenting. The effort to expand “Dateline” is taking the program into new frontiers, including podcasts, 24/7 streaming channels and even scripted fare, as seen in the recent NBC limited series, “The Thing About Pam,” which starred Renee Zellweger. We can be a little more leisurely at times.” “We can have a little bit more freedom with pacing. “We don’t have to adhere to limits on minutes,” explains Liz Cole, executive producer of “Dateline” and president of NBC News’ documentary studio unit, in an interview. Of course, an important part of the charm of this movie is the dream of a Swedish upper class country house with a large, complicated family. They’re playing it naturalistic, but the performances are just adorable. I haven’t seen this movie that many times - this is probably my fifth, which is only once per decade, or something - but I just love these actors. It’s like an American kid’s idea of “art film”… which is what this is, given the Blow Up inspiration. So they have dreams like this, which are devoid of depth or originality. The problem is that the characters are just so uninteresting. So Coppola got to make this (based on a script he wrote almost a decade earlier, after seeing Antonioni’s Blow Up) after the first Godfather movie was a huge success? This just seems really self indulgent - there’s moments of excitement, and then there’s half an hour of tedium. That’s what I want my kitchen to look like! I’m just… kinda bored with this movie already, and I’m just half an hour in. A surveillance agent that plays jazz at home? That’s his character? Hi-res music streaming services compared : which should you sign up for?įirst, let’s talk about the three categories all audio files can be grouped into – uncompressed, lossless and lossy.Best music streaming services 2022 : free streams to hi-res audio.WMA Lossless (hi-res): A lossless incarnation of Windows Media Audio, but no longer well-supported by smartphones or tablets. It has poor metadata support (that is, album artwork, artist and song title information). Great sound quality but it's uncompressed, meaning huge file sizes (especially for hi-res files). WAV (hi-res): The standard format in which all CDs are encoded. The file format used (at 320kbps) in Spotify streaming. A lossy, open-source alternative to MP3 and AAC, unrestricted by patents. OGG (not hi-res): Sometimes called by its full name, Ogg Vorbis. MQA (hi-res): A lossless compression format that packages hi-res files for more efficient streaming. Convenient for storing music on phones and iPods. MP3 (not hi-res): Popular, lossy compressed format ensures small file size but is far from the best sound quality. The downside is that it’s not supported by Apple (so not compatible with Apple Music). It's royalty-free and is considered the preferred format for downloading and storing hi-res albums. It comes in 2.8MHz, 5.6MHz and 11.2MHz varieties but, as it's high quality and uncompressed, is (mostly) impractical for streaming.įLAC (hi-res): This lossless compression format supports hi-res sample rates, takes up about half the space of WAV, and stores metadata. ![]() It is lossless and uncompressed (so big file sizes) but not hugely popular.ĭSD (hi-res): The single-bit format used for Super Audio CDs. His average exit velocity didn’t really budge much, for one thing. Only four batters with 10 or more postseason PAs in 2021 had a better postseason xwOBA, while only seven had a better postseason wOBA.įrom an approach perspective, there’s not too much weird stuff to point to with regard to Rosario reinventing himself as a Brave. He won NLCS MVP, had a key hit in the NLDS, and was pretty much the terror of the postseason for opposing pitchers. Rosario was amazing for his 174 combined PAs as a Brave. While his last 44 PAs in the regular season were a bummer (51 wRC+), no one really remembered, because he went absolutely ham in the postseason, posting a 186 wRC+ in 68 PAs. ![]() This, too, was not the result of xwOBA outperformance, as Rosario’s. ![]() His regular season line for the Braves featured a 133 wRC+ and 0.6 fWAR in just 106 PAs, twice as much production as his time in Cleveland with around a third of the PAs. He buzzsawed opposing pitchers pretty much from the get-go, posting a 147 wRC+ in his first 29 Braves PAs, and then after a few days relegated to the bench, a 290 wRC+ in his next 28 PAs. Rosario made his Braves debut on August 28, nearly a full month after being acquired, and made his first Atlanta start the next day. On top of that, Rosario was on the shelf with an intercostal/abdominal strain, and per Alex Anthopoulos’ comments, the Braves felt that rushing him back from the injury would pay far fewer dividends than letting him get back up to speed at a more relaxed pace. The 29-year-old had amassed just 0.3 fWAR in 306 PAs, with a below-average batting line (86 wRC+) that neither featured xwOBA overperformance nor could be chalked up to the reverse. The xwOBA outperformance and some inconsistent defensive work in the outfield suggest that he was maybe an average producer for 2021, with some extra downside if his xwOBA underperformance didn’t stick, which is why he got the deal he did from Cleveland.īy the time the Braves acquired him, things were worse than forecasted. Given the essentially-zero acquisition cost, it’s safe to say no one saw Rosario’s huge three months coming.Ĭoming into the 2021 season, Rosario was coming off four straight seasons with an above-average batting line, but had also outhit his xwOBA pretty substantially in that span, as well as in every year of his career to date. ![]() While Rosario was only owed another $2.8 million or so at the time of the trade, he was sent to Atlanta along with some cash to cover part of his remaining contract. His stint in Cleveland did not go well, and with there being little chance of an AL playoff spot, the why-didn’t-you-call-them-the-Spiders salary-dumped Rosario onto the Braves in “exchange” for Pablo Sandoval at the Trade Deadline, who was immediately released by his new team. Like Duvall, Rosario couldn’t get something in the range of his arbitration-eligible salary once a free agent, signing a one-year deal worth $8 million with the team now known as the Cleveland Guardians. Eligible for a final year of arbitration in which Rosario was expected to make somewhere between $8.6 and $12.9 million, the Twins chose to non-tender him, a decision very similar to the one the Braves made with Adam Duvall. Eddie Rosario was the last of the quartet of outfielders the Braves acquired in July to make his Atlanta debut, but was hardly a case of “last and least.” Instead, he was scorchingly good through the end of the regular season and into the playoffs, playing a huge role in vaulting the Braves to a championship in 2021.Ī fourth-round pick of the Twins back in 2010, Rosario had a nice run with his original team, putting up 11.5 fWAR in 2,830 PAs across six seasons. ![]() “Our MRE contractors will have no problem fitting the SDRs into their production schedule when required.”ĭLA Distribution is slated to ship SDRs after production to the locations indicated by FEMA, which will allow FEMA to allocate its manpower to other aspects of its mission of helping people before, during and after disasters.įEMA is one of more than 40 of DLA’s federal partners. “The number of SDRs is a drop in the bucket compared to the MREs the vendors make every year,” said Harry Streibich, operational rations chief for DLA Troop Support’s subsistence supply chain.
